Life Lessons From My Dog

  1. An early morning run and an early afternoon nap make any day better.
  2. Wallowing in crap might be fun in the moment but soon people will avoid you and you’ll end up alone and lonely.
  3. When your instinct tells you someone is up to no good you are foolish to ignore the warning.
  4. Sitting on the porch is not a waste of time.
  5. Be good but break a rule once in awhile.
  6. Going to the bathroom (the equivalent of going outside to pee) is always a good, brief escape when you just can’t handle what it going on elsewhere.
  7. Cookies taste better when you don’t feast on them.
  8. Always let your people know that you are happy to see them when they return after having been away.
  9. Chasing the cat is fun even if deep down you wouldn’t know what to do with it if you caught it.
  10. When your person is sad sit really close and let them cry.
  11. Just because someone brings you stuff (such as UPS and FedEx) doesn’t mean you have to like them.
  12. When you you really want something, smiling, staring and remaining silent almost always works better than barking and dancing.

  1. My sweet friend! You and Bella have such nice rules to live by and they all should be part of everyone’s daily prayers. I am a little off this morning with the time change but I looked for your post first thing and “it’s the best one yet!” Peace to you and Bella. I love the sunrise from your porch and all the pictures! ________________________________
